Choose and save your password
Make this account yours means your email code has been accepted. You can now choose a password for this GBMaps email address. Complete this step within 10 minutes of verifying the code; if you leave it too long, verify your email again.
Your password
Use 8–50 characters. Spaces are welcome and special symbols are not compulsory. Several unrelated words can be easier to remember than a short jumble. Choose your own phrase: do not use the example in a screenshot, a familiar keyboard sequence or a password used on another website.
Show / Hide
There is one password field, so use Show to check it before saving. Hide conceals it again. Pasting from a password manager is allowed. Keep the screen private while the password is visible.
Save my password
Saves the password for this account and its map types. Wait for the confirmation before assuming it has worked. If red wording appears, read it and correct the problem; the tool has not accepted the new password.
Back to sign in
Leaves this step and returns to the ordinary sign-in box. It does not save the password you typed. If you already had a working password and have not saved a replacement, that previous password is unchanged.
Your password is saved
You are returned to the sign-in box with this confirmation. Enter the new password and choose Continue to my maps. This final sign-in is required after both first-time setup and a reset; being asked again is not an error.
Keep the password and codes to yourself
GBMaps support does not need your password or email verification code. Anyone you give these to may be able to use your account. On a shared computer, decline the browser’s offer to remember the password and use Log out when you finish.
