Changing the way you pay for our products and services.
We’ve always tried to make it as simple as possible to select and pay for our products. Our payment gateway has been provided successfully by PayPal for many years allowing us to take payment for our products via a Paypal account or via Credit Card. Unfortunately paypal make it unclear that you do NOT need to have an account and you can pay by credit card in the normal way.
Most of our customers are business users who do not generally have access to a paypal account and with it not being obvious you have an alternative payment method, these people are forced to contact us for guidance.
PayPal have recently updated their user interface to make it even less clear that it is possible to pay by credit card. You have to select the Checkout as Guest button to pay by credit card. You don’t need a paypal account to pay by card and you won’t automatically be signed up for one.
We are planning to change our main payment gateway from PayPal over to WorldPay at the beginning of October 2018. WorldPay are a dedicated online credit card payment processing facility used by over 300,000 small businesses. You will still have the option to pay by paypal but our default will be to pay for our products by credit or debit card.
This should be a positive move for our business giving users more confidence when paying for our mapping products and for those who have no experience with using paypal as a payment method.
