Map Titles: title & key heading

A useful title says what the colours mean. “Sales territories — September” tells a reader more than “Map Title”.

  1. Map title

Edit this box to change the title across the top of the page. It updates on the artwork as you type. The field allows up to 55 characters. The title is easiest to judge in Print View, where the title bar is visible.

  2. Key heading

Changes the heading above the key entries, for example “Regional contacts” or “Delivery zones”. The field allows up to 35 characters. Keep it short if you want a compact key.

  3. The saved map name is separate

The name entered under Save identifies the editable map in your file list. Changing the map title or key heading does not automatically rename that file. Use meaningful wording in both places so the artwork and saved copy are easy to recognise.
