Additional Data: figures in your key

Where datasets are available, the tool can add territory figures to the key. Use them to compare coloured territories, rather than judging coverage by visual area alone.

Additional Data: figures in your key — current GBMaps controls 1 2
Current panel with two example dataset choices. The datasets offered depend on your map and account.
  1. Activate Additional Data

Use a portrait key, then load the datasets offered for the current map. Activation is unavailable with a landscape key. The list depends on the map, your account and data availability. If none are offered, that does not mean the territory has a zero population or zero records; there is no suitable dataset available in this panel.

  2. Select a dataset

Tick a dataset to display its figures alongside the territory entries in a portrait key. Untick to remove those figures from the key. Choose only figures useful to your reader, as several datasets can make the key large.

  3. Read the territory figures

The figures are assembled from the data attached to the polygons assigned to each territory. They follow the territory grouping, not the visible size of a coloured shape on screen. Check the dataset’s name, date and coverage before drawing conclusions from it.

  4. After changing territories

Review the figures after adding, removing or reassigning polygons. Give the tool time to load the selected data. Extra contact notes entered through Legend details are independent of these calculated figures.

  5. Pilot availability

The panel identifies this as a pilot feature. Available datasets and access may change. If the data you need is absent, use the site’s contact link to discuss it rather than treating a missing option as an import setting.
