# Your account, login & logout Official GBMaps guide for the classic map maker. VectorMaps has a different interface. Select a numbered circle for its explanation. Available options depend on your map and account. ## 1. Open the account menu Use the account control above Save, Open and New. It shows the current account state and the available login/account actions. On a shared computer, check the displayed email before saving work. [Open this step](https://www.gbmaps.com/mcs/map-help.php?topic=account#account--menu) ## 2. Your email and password One email address and password cover all the map types on your account. Use the email associated with your purchase. A successful sign-in carries through to the saved-map manager, so you do not need to sign in again when you save or open a map. Verify your email before choosing a password The tool sends a six-digit code to your account email address. Enter it in the sign-in box within 60 minutes, then choose a password of 8–50 characters. A phrase of several words is easy to remember; spaces are allowed. Your password is saved securely, and you can then sign in. Account verification uses email, not a mobile phone number. [Open this step](https://www.gbmaps.com/mcs/map-help.php?topic=account#account--mobile) ## 4. Save before logging out The logout confirmation offers Save & Logout, Logout Without Saving and Cancel. Save & Logout keeps the current work before ending the session. Without Saving leaves unsaved changes behind. Cancel returns you to the map. Leaving for the homepage or another map Open goes straight to your saved-map manager if the current map is unchanged. If it has changed, choose Open & Save or Open without saving in the Open panel; there is no second confirmation. For other leave-page warnings, Leave without saving discards unsaved work; Keep editing or Cancel stays on the map. Your invoices Expand your account menu to see Your invoices, loaded automatically when you sign in and reused as you move between maps. Each link shows its invoice number and, where available, purchase date and description. Select the relevant invoice to download its PDF; older invoices are under Earlier invoices. Recovery copies Open your account menu above Save, Open and New, then select the small Recovery copies link at the bottom. It opens the available device and account recovery copies. Forgotten password or missing code Choose Set or reset my password in the sign-in box. Check that you entered the email used for your purchase, including its ending, and look in your junk folder. Send a new code is available after a short wait. Too many incorrect attempts expire the code. After setting a new password, older signed-in sessions are closed, so your other devices will need the new password. Contact GBMaps Support with your order or invoice details. We need to establish that the account is yours before changing its email address; knowing an email address or a mobile number is not enough. If the tool asks you to sign in again If your sign-in expires while editing, sign in again in the box over your map, then repeat the save or download. Keep the editor open while doing so. On a shared computer, save your work and use Log out when you finish.
