# Asked to sign in again while working Official GBMaps guide for the classic map maker. VectorMaps has a different interface. Source: https://www.gbmaps.com/mcs/map-help.php?topic=sign-in-again Updated: 2026-10-22 A sign-in can end after a period of inactivity, when you log out in another tab, or when the password is reset. The editor opens sign-in over your existing map. Keep that page open: closing or refreshing the whole page can discard work you have not saved. ![Asked to sign in again while working — actual GBMaps dialog with example details](https://www.gbmaps.com/mcs/help/images/auth-sign-in-again.png) Real GBMaps dialog with an example account. Select a numbered circle for its explanation; View larger makes the wording easier to read. ## 1. Sign back in over the map Enter the account email and its current password, then choose Continue to my maps. The map stays behind the box. If the password was changed on another device, use the replacement. Closing the sign-in box leaves the map visible but does not restore account access. Repeat the save or download When You are signed in again appears, dismiss the message and repeat the save or download you were making. The interrupted action is not automatically repeated. Check that the save reaches My saved maps, or that the expected file downloads, before leaving. Read and dismiss the message, then repeat your save or download. Keep the current map open. If it asks for the password again, sign in and try the action once more. A direct bookmark can ask you to sign in first, then return you to the permitted page. If the account cannot access a map, check that it belongs to the email you used.
